New truck

After nearly destroying our van coming out of NYC last time (we overheated it), Rusty, our mechanic told us to trade it fast. So we traded it in on a 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 crew cab. We picked it up today. Going to be a little cramped compared to the van, but it will tow so much better.
I also grabbed a used contractor cap off of craigslist for $300 so that our stuff can be dry and locked up safe.

Some fun on video

We recently got a new video camera because we wanted to make movies for Big Oak Ridge, and also document some of our own travels. I assembled a small grouping of random videos that were fun for your viewing pleasure.

Some cool clouds

So there was a facebook photo running about showing off a "tornado" in Oil City. I don't believe it since the weather service never reported it. I would like to share my own photos of a similar nature and show that it's just a cloud formation not a tornado.

Advertise with us, or sponsor us!

We did 70k miles in one year to 27 different states. The time has come for us to upgrade to a new vehicle and we are looking for advertisers/sponsors who might want their business exposed to the whole country. We can put advertising on the new truck and the trailer. Use the contact form for more details. You would also be featured on our website that has been doing pretty well. 🙂

Working in Ohio

This week I am working in Ohio. There has been some driving involved, but probably not as much as usual. I did get to meet up with my old college room mate for lunch yesterday. That was nice. Haven't seen him in several years as we have both been super busy.

I only have 6 more MCD sites to do for this week. Next week I will be local working on installing a new Point Of Sale for Hilltop Hardware. It a pretty big task, but I think it will be a great step forward for them.

We found out that we over heated our van just a bit too much on the way home from NYC and cooked the head gaskets. It's leaking oil now and it's sluggish feeling. 🙁 I had not wanted to have another car payment for a while. Praying about what to do here. We really need a diesel truck, but I just don't want to spend that kind of money. I was really trying to stay out of debt. Grrr! Oh well, God knows what we need. He has never failed me and I trust this time will be the same. Still I wish I had gotten more then a year and half out of the van. Its my fault that it happened (big surprise, I am a car killer).

This project will be done in September. Not sure what coming after it. Still praying for guidance and provision there as well.

The end of a school year.

So excited for the school year to be ending. We have been done for a while, but never home long enough to get an evaluator to come for the assessment. Well, today was the day. Our friend, and homeschool evaluator, came over and looked over portfolios and interviewed us. She told me that I just needed to put a few more things in the portfolio for Thing 1 and Thing 2's was good. All I am waiting for is the written assessment from her for the front of the portfolios and we are done. What a relief! So, soon portfolios can go off to the school district and we can be done for this school year! YAY!

Home with the “Dozens”

When my nephew was a baby, he couldn't say cousins. So he would say, "I want to see the dozens." Well we got to see them all. Cept the ones on the way. 😉 Kids all had fun playing together and having a good time. Only a few minor cuts and scrapes. 🙂

I spent the first couple days at home getting a/c to work in my Daewoo, getting paperwork done for jobs I did, and helping my dad get moms new swing set in place. Swing was super heavy and it took 4 of us to move it. I think it turned out alright.

We also went to Johnny Stoners 16th birthday party. It was great seeing all the old friend. Did you ever see a kid so excited? He got his first turkey 12gauge for his birthday. You really can't go wrong buying a man a gun unless he's a liberal fruit. 🙂

Just more pix as we leave NYC

I just wanted to share a few more pix from NYC. We followed a Google mapping car. That was sort of fun. I wonder if we will be able to see ourselves on the highway if we go look? We are headed home to Big Oak Ridge to park for 3 weeks. If you want to see us, you know where we will be.

More from NYC

Today they made us move to a different campsite. We have no idea why. This spot is longer, but narrower. As shown in the pictures, we are almost touching the guy beside who slides out both sides of his camper. He is line to line. Hope he isn't a fat guy cause he might not be able to get out.

I also snapped a few shots of the World Trade Center site while I was walking by. You really can't see anything as they have it all fenced off. But there used to be some big buildings there that are not now.

New York City!

We are currently in NYC for the week. Doing some more McDonalds upgrades. I personally don't like the city and all the city life, but it was cool to take the kids and show them some of the places they have seen on tv or read about. We saw trump hotel, the Apple store (Tara Weed would have love it since she's into all the Apple stuff bigger then I am.), central park, and more. I walked so much I chaffed (not good). Using Google on my Android phone I have traversed the subways and come out the other side no worse for the wear. 🙂 Hopefully I will find time to do some video later on. But for now, here's some pix.
